- Abbotsford Convent: 1 St Heliers Street, Abbotsford VIC 3067
The Abbotsford Convent in Melbourne has an extraordinary history. It's no longer used as a convent, but it once housed over 100 nuns and more than a thousand girls. On Friday 6th November, the convent will host a special one-off jazz concert featuring the cream of local and international talent. UK virtuosos Martin Litton (Piano) and Thomas 'Spats' Langham (banjo/guitar/vocals) will be joined by the fantastic Sydney reedsman Paul Furniss. Local musicians Ian Smith on drums and Mark Elton on double bass will round out what is sure to be a memorable evening.

The evening's format will be a concert (i.e no tables) held within the intimate setting of the 'Linen Room' at the Convent. Alcohol will be available for purchase but there will be no food. Meals however can be purchased prior to the concert at a 'supper market' held on the grounds of the convent from 5pm. Why not arrive early, enjoy some food and bric-a-brac at the market and then relax to the wonderful sounds of Litton, Langham & Furniss? A great Spring evening!
