35/52: Jump Around

It's been a really hard week. We're halfway through stage 4 lockdown, it's week 6 (or is it 8) of homeschooling and then this mid-winter weather...urghhh! Add to this, some of my clients have gone into their caves and candidates are having a real hard time seeing the silver lining. It feels like we're at the bottom. Time to jump around...
So I got up this morning, turned up the stereo and found my happy place through music. The Jacksons "Blame It On The Boogie" to be exact. As that wonderful bass line sang out across our Weetbix, I started a silly dance. Imagine a 44-year-old Dad pretending to use his leg as a guitar and acting like his feet have a mind of their own. "I just can't, I just can't, I just can't control my feet." Daggy as hell and lots of laughs across the breakfast table. And then after 3:34 of solo dancing in the kitchen I stopped and looked up. Smiles from ear to ear on the kids' faces and I felt fantastic. I felt energised and I felt like had a bit of perspective again.
There are plenty of scholarly articles on the benefits of dance for your mental and physical wellbeing, so there's very little to lose. I'm prescribing 5 doses of breakfast dancing over the next week and I want to know what you'll be dancing to.
Here's my playlist for this week:
"Blame It On The Boogie" (The Jacksons)
"Uptown Funk" (Bruno Mars/Mark Ronson)
"Superstition" (Stevie Wonder)
"Get Up Offa That Thing" (James Brown)
"Jump Around" (House Of Pain)
